We love all our collections, but this must be one of our favourites and the most sustainable. We wanted to give you, our customers, the highest quality socks, with the softest hand-feel whilst of course being as sustainable as much as we possibly can.

Our first thought was Bamboo. However, when you dive deeper into how Bamboo fibre is produced, we were shocked to see that it was not as sustainable as we thought due to production process. Therefore, Bamboo was a big NO for us!

After more experimenting and more research, we opted with TENCEL™ Lyocell. Lyocell is made from wood-pulp, majority of the time from Eucalyptus trees.  Ah! Doesn’t that already sound soothing and comforting already? Plus, it is made sustainably and eco-friendly, as it uses a closed-loop manufacturing process that minimises waste and environmental impacts.

• Resistance to shrinking – Yes our Carbon Zero socks will maintain its shape after multiple washes

How is it sustainable and eco-friendly?

• Renewable and biodegradable – Lyocell made from cellulose, which is derived from renewable resources like wood pulp from sustainably managed forests. The fibres are also biodegradable, which means they can break down naturally without harming the environment.
• Low environment impact – the production process uses non-toxic solvents and producing less waste and emissions.
• Water efficient – TENCEL™ Lyocell, uses less water than other fabrics
• Closed-loop production - Almost all of the solvents and chemicals used in the process are recovered and reused, reducing waste and minimizing the impact on the environment.
• Reduced carbon footprint - The production of TENCEL™ Lyocell requires less energy and produces fewer greenhouse gas emissions compared to traditional fabrics
• All of our Carbon Zero socks are made in a Green Factory which uses wind-turbines to generate their machinery.
